FED EX??? Am I a traitor

I will be heading off to SC the 13-16 of Oct. I have a session (technically its not an interview) with a person from Fed Ex!!

After about 3 years of doing nothing but competing with everything that i have against the energetic rookie known as Fed Ex, I might end up working with them!!!

But I’m beginning to ask more questions as to what God wants to accomplish through me in SC. And honestly its very hard to answer those questions when I live in TN.

Please, Please, Please pray that I will know God’s will and God’s job and my responsibilities to come.

I need these prayers continuously. Please keep me in your prayers.

I love you guys and thanks for reading and caring and I will keep you updated on what’s going on.

My Halo 3 Adventure

So on tuesday i picked up my reserved copy of Halo 3 i brought it home but didn’t have enough time to play it cuz i had to go to work.

The entire night at work i was imagining the carnage that would be inflicted at my home as the game was on at my house that night.

So i finally got home was playing online for like 30 minutes and it froze. I was mad but honestly it has happened before so i just thought i would start the console over again.

Boy, was i wrong.

I went to eject the disc tray and it only came out half way. And my Halo 3 game was not inside the tray! I had to pull the tray further out tilt my 360 up and pull our my disc with some pliers.

It was toasted. It had a giant engraved ring on it with a little circle right next to the hole in the middle of the disc.

Unreadable and it was like that mini circle was winking at me in jest.

I was extremely ticked but i thought i would try and take it back knowing that the odds were against me.

But Gamestop in Millington took my receive and gave me a new copy. All my game purchases will now be made at Gamestop.

And now the killing ensues and the game is awesome but no I am not even close to very good but soon I will be and I will take on all challengers

How to Fix Memphis Football

There is definitely a problem with Memphis Football right now. To say that there is not is simply a lie and you are deceiving yourself. There is an issue with the stadium. The team got demollished by a program that has only been in existence since 1996. We play in Conference USA.

I wish that RC and Shirley would read this but I know that their lives are too busy for those of mere students with concerns about the well being of our University but I will give my take anyway.

Number 1: Make a run at a BCS conference. This is extremely easy to say and difficult to do. But the old adage you must spend money to make money still holds true today thanks to FCBE’s teachings I understand this. Make an investment in the program. Put your money where your mouth is. Academics are number one, agreed. However, do you think that OSU, OU, UT, UT, USC, UF, PSU, and LSU are hurting in the academic department? Do these schools bring in the needed money to provide their academic programs with the much needed facilities and benefits that they desire. Or will a lab bring in the money for every other area on campus that needs attention?

Number 2: In order to make this run we must have a successful program. Run a different kind of offense. We have done this with Tommy West but the problem is we failed at one position to recruit the player that we need. Quarterback. To run the spread you have to go with two options: one a mobile and athletic quarterback or one that can throw the ball anywhere and everywhere. We have had success with both. Danny Wimprine, remember him? He could easily throw the ball 40 yards through the air with ease. Maurice Avery, oh yeah that guy. He could run and run and run and he didn’t even need to pass the ball. Everyone would love to have Vince Young but those are unrealistic expectations. We CANNOT under any circumstances not recruit a quarterback that is uncapable of either one, Martin Hankins. We have an avg. of about 6’3″ height at wideout and we throw it to the shortest one on the shortest route possible? Why? Because our quarterback can’t make the throws.

 Number 3: An on campus stadium is not a necessity but upgrades on campus are. More space, more dorms, and heck buildings that don’t look 500 years old would be nice. Heck at least upgrade the stadium we have now

Recruit: “Lets look at the Locker Room Coach, I want to see the place I get to put my Jersey with my name on it and hang all of my highlight reel play pictures on.

Coach: “I’m sorry son we have to miss that part of the tour”

Recruit: “Why?”

Coach: “Our locker rooms are the equivalent of the shoe boxes you put your sandals in”

Recruit: “I don’t put my sandals in a box”

Coach: “Exactly”

Clear out the land on Patterson or on the other side by Zac Curlin. Take the old track out the Field house and anything else in the way. Promise the volleyball team a new facility when the funds become available and put one up. Spend money to make money.

While I’m on a tangent if academics are number one here, where are all of our alumni to build up their own academic programs? Where are those people at? Help everyone by making money in an area.

Number 4: Voice your concern to the people in charge. Don’t let the people that don’t even know Memphis has a football team talk to them or whisper in their ears. Do it yourself. If they have the students’ best interests in mind then they should listen to the students right? Or am I missing something? Let your voice be heard and come to the games. Regardless, of whether we are a powerhouse or not we should cheer our Tigers to victory. I will be there. You will see me. I will be wearing blue.

Football Team we love you guys and support you. We thank you for putting your health on the line so we can get our kicks every Saturday. I hope that you realize that your efforts are not in vain and that your University as well as your student body are behind you in every way.

Fantasy Football

So i am in two leagues for fantasy football this year and my record is as follows.

Thompson Terrors in a league that I created with many people I’ve met from Church.

0-3

Drummonds Wildcats in a league with all my best friends from high school.

3-0

This either means I’m a genius, I’m extremely lucky, or I’m just average.

Either way LT you better step it up or you will ride some pine.

I finally Got It!!

Halo 3 is out and i reserved it so i didn’t have to pay for it when i thought i might be tight on cash so i paid for it up front. I picked it up today from the store and brought it home and….

I couldn’t play it yet i had to go to work so i am writing this before i actually play it so i can let you know how pumped I am and then relay the joy or dissappointment to you.

Here’s hoping for as much thrilling explosions as possible.

My new area

It has been a little while since I talked to you about my current position. So i figured that I would take a little time out to let u know what’s going on.

I told you before that I took the new position for the challenge of meeting a goal that the building has never met before. It was difficult for us in the past because of a few things but i thought that I could get the guys to put out the effort needed to get the job done.

Basically the region’s goal was to bag 90% of all smalls that come through the building. We bagged on average around 85% so we weren’t far from this goal. I knew that i could get production up but it would cost some service errors but I thought I could take that risk. Well one and a half weeks after I moved areas the goal jumped from 90% to 93%!!

We couldn’t bag 90 before how in the world are we going to bag 93!! This is the attitude that my people had. Needless to say, a couple of days after this happened I had to write myself up(crazy huh u would think someone else would do it) for a problem that occured when I wasn’t even the supervisor of that area. I was ticked.

But God has used these things to bless me. It has taken about 2 months but for the past 6 days we have not only reached our goal of 93% but for the month of September we are bagging around 93.7%! We have sacrificed a few service errors but I am pumped that we have begun to meet this goal on a consistent basis.

I have also learned that God has called me to lead people. I have been gifted to lead. Some of you might be thinking… Man J.C. is stupid we could’ve told him that 2 years ago but it wouldn’t have mattered even if you had said it.

I know that I will not be satisfied, fully satisfied with a position unless it is leading people and seeing them succeed and grow. God has prepared me to lead now I am waiting for the who to lead. And that my friends is all I could ever ask for.

 I love all of you guys and please continue to pray for me and the path that God is leading me on.

I wonder…

Ever play the if game with yourself…

If i was 7 inches taller I could play basketball.

If i spent more time studying I would’ve aced that test.

If i spent more time with my family we probably wouldn’t have any problems at all.

If i would have read my Bible more I would have that word that I needed.

Why do we define ourselves by the if’s in our life. It seems to me that we waste so much time with the ifs and not enough with the are’s.

 I am waiting for God to come through right now and I feel helpless in a way but knowing that God has a plan for my life but knowing that right now all I can do is wait. I hope that you would continue to pray for me that I would be aware of God’s working and where the doors are being opened.

Self Marketing

I had fun this weekend with David C. Jacks if you didn’t know he is developing a self marketing program for himself. I laughed because every 3 seconds at his house he was naming a product to see if i would buy it if it had his name on it. T-shrits, pens, coffee cups, and mp3 players are just a few. If he could find a way to put his picture into the lava in a lava lamp i would buy one of those that would be awesome.

Also we played some LaserTron at Putt Putt too. David definitely rocked my world. Even though my team won every mission when we were on opposite squads.

Anybody that wants to get beat by the baddest laser tag duo in the game today is more than welcome.
