What a Great Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving. It’s filled with some of my favorite foods, turkey, my moms cranberry salad and cheesy good potatoes, and deviled eggs.

Plus for me it meant that my wonderful fiance came in town and it was a blast. We watched Transformers, football, played Hit the Beach with my family and just hung out. She is awesome. We also went shopping on “black friday” but we went later and it wasn’t as bad as it would seem.

Anyway next blog will be the conclusion of the Backsliding thing and just wanted you to know that I’m thankful for everything in my life right now. And I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Hopefully a job soon 😉 keep prayin!!!

Backsliding?

You know in searching for this job and really myself through this search I had some questions that I needed answered (most of which still are not however) and one of them is this: Can Christians backslide? Is backsliding an actual thing or just for people that are not saved to reassure themselves that they are ok? Is it possible?

Why do i want to know the answer? Well for a couple of reasons

  1. I’ve always been curious
  2. I felt like God wasn’t speaking to me. And frankly, it was frustrating. I am just not sure how to explain this but me and Jeff had the discussion about just not “feeling” it sometimes. I know that feelings aren’t what’s important but just another reason to understand why.
  3. To more clearly understand what we believe about salvation

And so I direct the question to you before I give my response.

Can Christians backslide?

I am so ashamed

I am so ashamed today i got out-presented in class.

This hasn’t happened in 3.5 years of college.

I am so dissapointed in myself.

………sigh……….

Start of a Journey

well for a while i’ve been on a job search but i soon realized that it was much more. I will explain a lot later on but for now just the background.

I knew i had to finish college and needed to find a job.

My aunt sent me a message on myspace. One of those you think that person is crazy messages but later on think could this really happen?

Now i am sure of a few things but not the job that i need and would relieve so much stress. Here is a summary:

  • God is up to something in my life.
  • God has guided me i just didn’t know in what direction at the time.
  • We are responsible for decisions that we make in life.
  • Big picture thinking is much bigger than I thought

The Turning Point

It seems as if my life is coming to a point where God is going to move me into a different direction. The problem that I have right now is finding where that direction is.

With pretty much a blank slate in front of me what do I do? and where do I do it? are all questions that must be answered.

Do you make the decision and then see God guide you after that? (The step out on faith concept)

Or do you wait on God’s guidance?

These are the questions on my mind and they’ve been there for about 6 months. I will tell you what I think is happening in the next few blogs so stay tuned.

*NO JOB YET HOWEVER SO DON’T GET YOUR HOPES UP AND KEEP PRAYING!

My Dad fell off the Roof

I know it sounds like a crazy country song or some Broadway musical but me and my dad have been working on this shed in our backyard for about two weeks.

Well today he procedes to fall off the roof while I am inside getting ready to help and Mom is outside (yes we were watching him on the roof) and she runs in to tell us he fell off the roof.

Funny thing is he is walking around…He landed on his feet after rolling down the roof. He is ok, very sore and He will welcome your prayers but no doctor visits or anything like that.

In other news we will not be working on a roof for a very long time according to a source close to my father.

Memphis another victim of upsets?

So Kentucky who was scheduled to play Uconn if they just beat the scrubs lost last night to Gardner-Webb.

So another top ranked opponent that Memphis was probably going to play was beat. How can we beat the best if they lose to scrubs???

*We play in conf. USA blah blah blah*

#3 in the country because we are good and we will play tough out of conference teams. But we can’t help we are in a horrible conference. We went undefeated in conference last year and lost once the year before that in conference.

That’s what we’re supposed to do and we get penalized for it. It’s really a shame that Kentucky will probably get back into the top 25 even though they got beat by some scrubs.

When you beat scrubs you don’t play anybody, but when you lose to them if you are in a good conference, you just weren’t ready to play?

Keep doing what you’re doing tigers and let the haters hate and watch as they all fall in the tourney and watch us on their tv’s as the CUSA team gets in the Final Four and fights for a national championship.

On a sidenote related to upsets. I saw a FedEx truck today on the Interstate… A UPS truck was way in front of it. Fed Ex will not catch up. Brown rules the Town.

Grizzlies suggestion

hey Grizzlies management, please listen to me.

Get rid of Pau. We want to run an uptempo style. We have Kyle Lowry (the third best on ball defender in the NBA as voted by the players), Rudy Gay, and Mike Conley. Go athletic and get up and down the floor.

Last night I’m watchin the game and literally Mike Conley is jogging down the court and the defense is going full speed backwards and Conley has to slow down to wait for everyone to set up downcourt.

Give him to the bulls and get gordon, thomas, and someone else or maybe a draft pick.

Get it done and quit slowing us down.
